4 Reasons You Don’t Do What You Say You Will Do

Do you struggle to do what you say you will do?

Studies have found that as many as 92% of people struggle to follow through on their commitments to themselves, to others, and in their jobs.

But, interestingly enough, most people don’t believe they have any trouble doing what they say they will do. That’s why they keep saying yes to more and more things they can’t follow through on. Even in seemingly simple matters.

Take, for example, your alarm clock. You tell yourself every night that you will get up at a certain time, but how often do you hit the snooze and go back to bed? It seems simple, yet a majority of Americans struggle to follow through on even the simplest commitments.

Think about it in your own life. We’re all busy, what are the things, large or small, that you’ve been putting off? What tasks never get crossed off your to-do list? What promises have you made to your friends and family that you haven’t come through on yet?

Here are 4 reasons you don’t do what you say you will do.

1. You’re overwhelmed.

2. You’re overcomplicating things.

3. You don’t have a plan.

4. You haven’t made your commitments a priority in your life.

Just like anything else, the hardest part of following through on your commitments is getting started.

Take a look at your to-do list and pick one thing, just one thing, and do it.

Just by accomplishing this one thing, large or small, you will begin to feel passion, energy, and enthusiasm flow back into your life. Once you start to gather momentum, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish.

Have a great day, and remember, do not just be yourself… be the-best-version-of-yourself!
