The world’s getting crazier. I look around each day at what is happening in the world, near and far, and in many ways, it feels like a bad movie. The dehumanization is vast and constant now that it requires constant vigilance to remember that all this craziness impacts real people.
And people are suffering. The brokenness and woundedness seems unending. And yet, people’s desire for wholeness and unhappiness is as strong as ever. It may be manifesting in stranger ways with every passing day, but make no mistake, all the insanity you are witnessing around you expresses humanity’s deep and unchanging desire for wholeness and happiness.
People seem ever intent on trying stranger and more misguided paths to achieve this wholeness and unhappiness. And people seem more intent that ever before on ignoring what seems to the be the untested thesis of most people’s lives.
Everything has been tried except this simple and ancient thesis: Surrender to God, commit yourself to the spiritual journey, and commit to following wherever He leads.
And it’s not just for all the crazy people out there, it’s a reminder for you and me, a wake up a call, a renewed invitation. Perhaps we all need to rediscover it today: Surrender to God, commit yourself to the spiritual journey, and commit to following wherever He leads.
